Providing the best care possible for our rescues is of utmost importance. In addition to hay, many of the rescues require grain, special feed and/or supplements. The horses and donkeys require hoof trims every 6-8 weeks, and we need to be prepared for regular veterinary services and emergencies. Another critical factor is proper training! We sometimes send the horses out for professional training to ensure they are safely prepared to begin working under saddle with veterans and their families. This is a costly but important element for the rescues.
